Blue chronographs were rare in the 1960s, making the Omega De Ville 145.018 (and 145.017) particularly unique. Today, these blue models are quite difficult to source. When you find one - never let it go!
Launched alongside the De Ville 145.017, the 1968 debut of the De Ville chronograph series marked the introduction of Omega's caliber 860 and 861 movements. The 145.017 featured the caliber 860 with two sub-dials, while the 145.018 came with the caliber 861 and three sub-dials. These cam-actuated chronograph movements signaled a departure from the highly regarded column-wheel caliber 321 and soon gained their own respected reputation. Omega used the caliber 861 across its Speedmaster, De Ville, and Seamaster chronograph models.
